Ontario
International Airport initially opened in 1923. Over the past
10 years the Airport has been increasing steadily. In 2005, 7.2 million passengers
used the airport and 561,756 tons of air freight were shipped. The Ontario International
Airport is the second major international airport in the area, after Los Angeles
International Airport. Ontario International Airport is typically less crowded
and easier to use than LAX; according to Forbes it is one of the five best alternate
airports in America. The Ontario International Airport and is a major distribution
point for FedEx and is the West Coast air and truck hub for UPS.
The Ontario International Airport has 3 terminals. Terminal 2 has 265,000 square
and has 12 gates. The following airlines are served from this terminal: Aeroméxico,
Horizon Air, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection, JetBlue
Airways, United Airlines, United Express, and, Ted operated by United Airlines.
Terminal 4 has 265,000 square feet and has 12 gates. The following airlines
are served from this terminal American Airlines, ATA Airlines, Líneas
Aéreas Azteca, Southwest Airlines, and US Airways. The International
terminal has 2 gates and serves the following airlines: Aeroméxico arrivals,
and Líneas Aéreas Azteca.
